TROVE Wellness hosted its 2nd fitness boot camp on the 1st of June 2019. The theme of the boot camp was FIGHT BACK and train for a cause. Mental illness has increasingly risen over the past few years within our society. One – third of our population suffers from mental illness which is more than 17 million people. In light of May being International Mental Health Awareness Month, the aim of the fitness boot camp was to help dissipate the stigma attached to mental health illness by encouraging women to exercise for a cause. The boot camp dedicated 90 minutes of exercise to the cause, had a member from SADAG (South African Depression and Anxiety Group) present for a brief talk about mental health with hopes to shed more light on the matter. The event was jam-packed with just over 150 women present with amazing brand exhibitions on board which offered fun and interactive experiences for women and ample giveaways. Ladies were treated to wholesome and healthy treats from black female owned food vendor Nirmala Juice and a designated area for ladies to relax and socialize with friends courtesy of EA Innovations and walked away with an AWESOME goodie bag to the value of R1500!
